Clipper Flying Cloud, later Clipper Champion of the Seas. First flown on 10/31/1969, Pan Am brought this 747, line number 7, to LAX in November 1969 for it's debut showing and public display. I believe this was the very first time a 747 was at LAX. The photograph was taken on the Imperial Terminal ramp. 734PA flew for Pan Am until the airline ceased operations in 1991. Later with UPS as N691UP, the airplane has now been scrapped.

Great classic shot of this beauty. Sadly in 2002 she had to be put to rest due to a wing spar crack. She flew until she couldn't fly anymore. Retired and scrapped as N691UP. Rest in Peace old girl.

I have a few photos of it's first servicing in Viet Nam. She is a beauty and your photo shows her graciousness.
