N5609 / 09 (cn 18806/188) Approaching runway 27 for departure to LAX and IAH. Replaces a DHC-7 on the SAN-LAX segment. First flight was September 14, 1965. Delivery date was October 7, 1965. Other serials - N470US with Northwest Orient and Northwest Airlines, and also N5609 with National Airlines, Royal West Airlines, Pacific Interstate Airlines, Majestic Air, Carnival Air Lines, and Destination Atlantis. Stored at MIA during September 1991. Broken-up and sunk as reef in Biscayne Bay, Florida during September 1993.
