N739PA (cn 19646/15) "Clipper Morning Light". Renamed "Clipper Maid of the Seas" in 1980. Clipper 515 to GUA awaits take-off clearance runway 24L. First flight was January 25, 1970. Delivery date was February 15, 1970. Wears FN 739 with Pan Am. Sadly, W/O December 21, 1988 with Pan Am as N739PA over Lockerbie, Scotland - due to bomb explosion on board with 259 fatalities + 11 on ground - r.i.p. A tribute to all whom perished. Pan Am DC-7C(F) c/n 44881/692 also wears N739PA.

Have this photo at home now, thanks. Brings back the time I flew on the Morning Light to London. This year visited the final resting place just east of Lockerbie . Seeing her in better days helps.

Aircraft: N739PA (741). Route: LHR-JFK. 243 Passengers, 16 Crew Members. Plastic explosive had been detonated in the airplane's forward cargo hold, triggering a sequence of events that led to the rapid destruction of the aircraft in the town of Lockerbie.
