N86504 (cn 2025) Forty years after, and the largest piece left is this bit of cowling. Paradise Airlines 901A turned the wrong direction on a missed approach to KTVL in a snowstorm. It wound up on the side of this mountain killing all 85 on board, March 1, 1964. TVL airport visible at top left.

The photo show the remains of a grim story on a beautiful mountain top. The surround waters and beach provide a clear deapth of field enbracing the quite and scienic location of Lake Tohoe.

This is the only photo I've seen of this crash. It happened when I was in second grade. A classmate's parents were on board.
