Sorry to hear Piper pulled the plug on this absolutely beautiful aircraft. Hopefully the prototypes will at least be visible at airshows. And not to mention that the photograph is fantastic as well! Many thanks for posting. Marc.
Look how large the horizontal stabilizer is. Also, the rudder sits up even higher than it has to, causing induced roll. Is that the the correct way to say it? So either this aircraft is a handful to fly or it has fly by wire. Beautiful bird and a great effort. A+ for originality.
I love this aircraft | |
Interesting propulsion, I like this plane, congratulations for capture ! Petru Dimoff
As of Oct 26th 2011, piper pulled the plug on the jet program. this jet will be in the scrap pile soon. piper as a company will probably meet the same fate soon too.
I've heard about this Piper before, but this is the first photo I've seen. A rather odd looking design. I'd be curious what the minimum landing and take-off distances are... Capt. Dan Northwest Airlines (Retired)
Nice one! Is it still doing test flights? I saw it a lot in 2009 in KVRB. Hope its on the final track!
Square shaped windows didn't look great at this aircraft.
Beautiful aircraft. i want one!
You have to ask yourself the question "Why!".... It just doesn't look right at all....
Looks like someone has converted a V-1 into a biz jet
I will like to fly this bird, im sure it will be nice...!
Vee One ... | |
I think the engine position and designation could be more cute.
Does anyone else look at this airplane and wonder, "Where's the rest of it?"
That engine puts a LOT of weight above the center of gravity. Could be a roll-over problem during bouncing landings. Sorry I forgot, nobody is ever going to bounce one of these in.
Great photo, but hideous airplane. This looks like something out of a children's coloring book.
I really think is a good aircraft, but not that sure with its wing desing, it could be waaay better...!
This must be a MMD-11 MiniMcDonnellDouglas-11
I know these "microjets" are all the rage these days, but every time I see one of these, I want to ask, "Where's the rest of the airplane?"
Have seen prettier aircraft in my life, but many Piper Chayennes with the main airstairdoor not fitting closely as it apears here again.
Great catch! Nice lighting too. From looking at this aircraft there's not really too many places to put that single 'mini' fan and still make it easy to work on. On that note however, having the engine where it is only makes me wonder if it's as much of a PITA to work on as the DC-10's #2 was. Then again, where else would you put that engine?
Yeah... BUT DC-10 was a beautiful aircraft..This one really...doesn't look good
Baby DC-10 :) | |
What an ugly aircraft | |
A most interestng aircraft! I've heard of it, but this is the first photo I've seen. I do have to say however - the watermark detracts from the overcall qaulity and could have been left off the photo...
Someone was bored | |
The aircraft is definately not my type, but very nice pic though. 5*
I don't know why, the the name 'PiperJet' just made me laugh!
