 A visitor from United States posted Wed March 29, 2006:Nice close up pic- you can even see the little 'aoa vane' below the nose, that was part of the 'gust response system' that was offered by Boeing to smooth out yaw excursions in turbulence. The thing actually did pretty well every time I flew it, but had a lot of trouble with the thrust reversers- there weren't many sets of them made (JT-9D-70A engines, rare) and if they weren't tweaked just right they wouldn't work very well. Otherwise it always seems to get the job done, if not necessarily on the same day it was supposed to! Anyway, loved the photo, the detail is really something, rivets and all... always like pics of ol' 921. | |
