A visitor from United States posted Thu July 16, 2009:This Russian monster has no AC inside?
A visitor from - posted Wed November 5, 2008:Reason those cooling fans are not protected or guarded (as many here commented) cause blades made out of rubber not steel, they will not do any harm when spinning if you touch them.
A visitor from - posted Thu July 31, 2008:Russian cockpits are very different and they look old fashioned to me, but I am always delighted whenever I see one! those risky fans should be placed overhead or at the back. and also i welcome the captain to visit my country with an An 124 and get some more similar looking caps. I can bet they will be cheaper than anywhere else!
A visitor from United States posted Sun June 1, 2008:He has his hand on the yoke to key the mic and read back the information he's receiving over the headset about radar vectors, altitudes, etc. from clearance delivery. That's what he's writing down on the paper! 5*****, a rare cockpit sight!
A visitor from Iran, Islamic Republic Of posted Tue November 6, 2007:Two things make this pic interesting: 1-look at the size of trucks. It shows how high the cockpit is. 2-The unprotected cooling fans in Russian planes’ cockpits always surprising me. I think those fans definitely need a guard otherwise it would cause seroious injury to the fingers of pilots!!
