N707JT (cn 18740/388) Wondering where 707JT is? Well here's how it looked a couple of months ago. The airplane had to go a major structural repair on the horizontal stab. after corrosion was found and since parts for these rare birds are hard to come by (only three left and only two flying) they had to machine them twice. It also had legal problems because the company that did the gear overhaul while they machined the part for the horizontal stab. ran into problems with the IRS. As of right now the plane is fully assembled.

On September 1st, 2013, I landed at Miami International Airport for my family holidays¡. I happened to see this wonderful bird. But, unluckily, I could not get a picture of it. So I waited for my next time, which was one week later. Again, I was unable to take the picture, as I was boarding my flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico. I saw this 707 being repaired at a service hangar, which also had a couple of jets from Venezuelan air carrier Santa Barbara Airlines (SBA)-an MD-82 and a B-757. I wondered what happened to this jet.

I recently saw this classic plane in MIA and wanted to get a picture of it. Sadly, I missed it twice. First time , on Sept, 1st, 2013 and second time, on September 12th, 2013. I knew the plane was still parked at a nearby hangar, but, again, my attempts to getr a picture of it were not successful.

Perfect light and welcoming information about the plane

The "SP" behind is a visual combo of an Atlas 744 and the eternally parked SBA 763.

What 747-SP is that in the background?! Is it VP-BAT? Great shot! Thanks.

Superb shot, many thanks for the details. And how about the 747SP in the background?
