N57083 (cn 3180) Designed in the 1940s by Ted Smith, the Aero Commander 500 Shrike Commander was re-branded the Rockwell Shrike in the early ‘70s; there was a big sales push, and company pilot Bob Hoover did some spectacular display flying in the demonstrator at Paris and Farnborough. Glos Air became a Rockwell concessionaire for a while and this Shrike, registered N57083 (which has since been re-allocated), was photographed outside their premises at Staverton in the evening after the 1974 Staverton air show.
