9526 (cn 516953026) Captain Chirita “Kiru” Laurentiu turns his MiG-21UM Lancer B of 861 Fighter Squadron, 86 Fighter Group, onto the runway of Borcea/Fetesti air base for a solo display of the type at the Romanian International Air Show “Constanta 2001” at Mihail Kogalniceanu airport. It was the first public display of 9526 in its new three-tone blue camouflage display colour scheme. The Lancer B is the indigenously upgraded version of the MiG-21UM/US and serves the operational conversion training requirement of the type.
