A visitor from Canada posted Sun December 17, 2006:To those who arent acquainted, this unique aircraft is an amazing piece of engineering..it is one of, if not the fastest prop aircraft to date, with rumours that it could out-accelerate jet fighters like SEPCAT Jaguar..its top speed came close to many subsonic jet aircraft. Of course it also had its fair share of probs like the immense amount of noise it created. The "wierdness" of this aircraft is really a showcase of Russian engineering ingenuity and originality!!

A visitor from United States posted Sat July 1, 2006:I live in New Jersey, and seeing pictures of NJ Air National Guard Escorting F-106's escorting these things just a few miles off our coast while they were going down to Cuba years ago is a scary thought.
A visitor from United States posted Fri June 30, 2006:Great photo! it really shows off the shape of the aircraft... Also, those protrusions behind the wing are not just gear bays, they are also anti-shock bodies.
A visitor from Mexico posted Wed June 28, 2006:So pretty I can almost hear it. T.B.
