RA-96016 (cn 74393202010) A bird strike or an engine failure? Or even both? Maybe none? That is something that perhaps we might never know, nevertheless this was a one in a million moment. I was trying to get this aircraft on rotation, and suddenly (when I started to photograph) a cloud of smoke emerged and the take off was aborted. Few days later, this photo made it to the front page of a Russian newspaper, and got its 5 minutes of fame on the telly, but what I wanted that day I didn’t get. This beautiful aircraft on rotation.

Yes, the engines are clearly in reverse ... Maybe it was an option to abort after an evident sign of a problem ... Really an unusual situation, considering that's the rotation time... 5*

Don't get disheartened Miguel. One captures aircraft on rotation everyday, but the shot you have got is rare. It only happens once in a million times. Thank God it did not end in disaster and pat yourself for the timing.

It appears to me the Engines are in full reverse, causing the so said "smoke".
