It's a great action photo!

This position of a cannon was chosen to be nearest to the helicpoter's center of gravity. So it contributes to the great accuracy of fire.
The belly turret wasn't chosen for the design because of the excellent agility of coaxial-rotor helicopter.

The cannon can move up, down, right and by a few degrees to the left.

This is a first rate and absolutely beautiful photograph. The Kamov is beautifully lit from the side. We can see detail and texture in the fuselage and many of the avionics protusions e.g. the one in the rear. The tight crop and bank of the heli together with the blurred rotors give a feeling of action and movement. Does the aircraft have to be turned to aim the cannon?
