This is one of two surviving Yak-3's in the world, though Yakovlev built over 4.500 of them. Preserved at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace.

Nice picture. This must be one of the Normandie-Neman machines presented by the Soviet government to the French pilots who had been flying them. The French pilots simply returned home on their fighters after the war was over. As for the pruduction: the serial Yak-3 started to be built in 1944, with the overall production standing at 4560. 3550 of those have been built before the end of the war. "More than 30000" is a bit exagerated though ; ) Cheers. Grigory.
