A complete surprise and astonishment! An airworthy Il-14. As of 2011 this airplane is in ZRH at the Runway 34 restaurant.

tired.

Wouldn't necessarily call airworthy, but flying it is, no doubt.

Excellent a rare photo. Thanks! As to tired: they looked like this as long as I remembered myself. Is it private owned? Registration is not Russian.

Is it the DC-3 cousin?

@ the brazilian poster: not a cousin but much more like a step brother. The Il-14 is the russian version of the DC-3.during WW2 the then soviet union needed a transport ship and the usa shared the blue prints of the DC3. some modifications later the Il 14 was born.

I beg to differ. the LI-2 was the soviet DC-3. "the Il-14 was developed as a replacement for the then irreplaceable US Douglas DC-3 / Russian Li-2." Check the Aircraft Data section on this site. --DtD
