How is ti possible for an airliner to make it's own rainbow??? I've never seen a rainbow like this before I found this site (a tv channel in Sweden broadcasted a show about neerds and outcast, and airliner-spotter was apparently in that cathegory, they showed two guys taking pictures of airlines and then published them here. I guess I'm to fits in to neerds and outcasts, hence I really love those pictures)

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat June 20, 2009:
Beautiful, I didn’t know this could really be possible!

A visitor from United States posted Fri May 8, 2009:
This is a wonderful example of ice crystals scattering sunlight and forming a spectrum. unlike rainbows formed by liquid water, ice acts like a prism and you get this linear sequence of colors next to each other rather than a series of arcs above one another. fantastic - you can often see this is high clouds as well but with less detail. our eyes are so much better at making the background to color comparison that photos are hard to make of this.

A visitor from China posted Fri May 8, 2009:
