That first comment is so correct...I remember seeing these at MIA when I was in college...I believe this type was noisier even than Concorde (minus the sonic boom of course).

On the last comment posted 30 of january 2013, it was during the late sixties and throughout the seventies that this type aircraft flew mainly with the national carrier from Costa Rica "Lacsa" to Miami. I remember these airplanes passing by my house in Costa Rica, they were indeed sooooo noisy that I could literaly hear them during the next twenty minutes until the noise disipated in the tranquility of the night, the latter just to give you an idea of how noisy they were.

I was a flight attendant on the 1-11' we called it the Crap 1-11' , we were usually stone deaf after four legs
