"Huge Viking" was the very first 747 I flew on back in December 1971 from JFK to CPH, and I flew with her again returning home the following month, and I vividly remembered this impressive aircraft as if it were only yesterday, and I was only 10 years of age! This excellent photo brings back fond memories of the first "jumbo" I flew on. The in-flight movie, I remembered, was "When Eight Bells Toll" starring Anthony Hopkins based on an Alistair MacLean novel. The in-flight movie shown on the return flight was the musical "Song of Norway" with Toralv Maurstad as Edvard Grieg and Florence Henderson as his wife Nina. I recalled how new this aircraft looked back when I first stepped aboard her. We were seated just behind the second cabin doors where 8 of us occupied the second and third row middle seats.

"Huge Viking". My first sight of a jumbo! Seen under tow a few days after delivery from Boeing.
