The Virgin Atlantic 747 seems to be wearing a special livery... I have never seen it before with the Union Jack carrying mascot lady at the back of the bird and that large... Anyone know what or why? Also the ANZ bird almost has one of its 'Pacific Waves' back due to the shadow of a lamp post... almost... The teal color is now gone forever altogether, a shame imo.

The 747-8 is longer than the A380.

I was on this plane this very same day :)

74 and 77 really are beautiful aircraft!

Andrew's comments say it all - lax offers great variety, and this shot encompasses that. I recall spending a few wonderful hours between terminals 1 and 2 watching and photographing the action many years ago... and the action seems to have got even better.

A visitor from Mauritius posted Fri September 7, 2012:
The A380 due to it's large wings in comparison with the length of the fuselage will always look short and stumpy. Hence while the T7 and 747 look much bigger when in reality, it dwarfs the T7(though the A380 is about 0.9m shorter) and is longer than the 747.

As always Andrew, your photos are exquisite! I always look forward to seeing them here...

The 380 looks shorter because of its proportions.

Aviation heaven!

The A380 is the star in this picture but I love the KLM MD-11 from this angle. Great shot.

Wonder about the lens used in this picture, the 747 and the 777 appear much larger compared to the 380.
