I hope United is bringing these 737 Classics back into service (I can understand why no one flies the732 anymore, they've done their work). It's such a waste to just paint an airplane and then scrap it.

I think United did this on an emergency basis. They had to rapidly decrease their fleet size, and this was the best way.

A visitor from United States posted Wed March 25, 2009:
As said before, most of the United aircraft could just be in storage.

A visitor from United States posted Mon January 5, 2009:
It makes no sense why united would put a brand new livery on their 737 and then scrap it. waste of time and money

A visitor from United States posted Fri November 30, 2007:
Those are some planes that we can still use!
The United 737 in old colors can be re-panited with the new livery and Be used.
The United 737 Shuttle can be put in new livery and have shuttle on it!
the Delta L-1011s look really useable!

The United 767 should be scraped and they need to get some more 757 with winglets and new Livery in there fleet.
(I really miss the United shuttle planes.I really liked them :P)

There are many developing countries in the world that could really use some of these aircraft! Nice shot!

How much is the cost of one of those L-1011´s or B767´s ????

A visitor from Czech Republic posted Tue December 12, 2006:
Yes, they don't look vry bad, I would love to have one of them if nobody wants them. A great shot!

A visitor from Singapore posted Tue December 12, 2006:
Some of these planes still look quite new!

A nice to see he collection of the retired L1011

A visitor from United States posted Mon December 11, 2006:
A lot of those aircraft are not in line for the knife. They are simply being stored, even the L1011s still appear to be in airworthy condition, because of the fact that they still have the engines and the windows are covered. Usually when airlines leave their titles on aircraft in the desert it means that they are being stored.

A visitor from United States posted Mon December 11, 2006:
I've seen several angles of this same set of Delta L1011's, but I never get tired of it.

A visitor from Nicaragua posted Mon December 11, 2006:
I want oneeee!!!!!!!

A visitor from Mexico posted Mon December 11, 2006:
A very sad look. All those L-1011s look airworthy.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon December 11, 2006:
Very nice, makes you feel sad.

A visitor from Switzerland posted Mon December 11, 2006:
Beatiful picture. I just can't understand that United paints some of its 737 in the new colour scheme to get rid of them a bit later. They still have 737 with the old c/s on, strange!
