ZS-SPC (cn 21134/288) Last ever landing for this 747SP into Rand airport, Johannesburg. The aircraft had not flown in over 3 years and the flight was made to reposition it to its final resting place at the SAA Museum Society. The runway is 1712m long and much narrower than the wheel base width of this machine meaning that the outside main tyres had to run off the sides of the runway (canon 300D)

Epic shot. Would love to see that with my own eyes. Or a take-off, even more dramatic. I remember that at Farnborough '08 the 'cleaner, greener' A380 at t/o kicked up quite the grass and dirt, as well as spraying the water on the runway far back, even tho the runway was (just) wide enough for all wheels.
