Sorry to the family for there loss. The aircraft was fixed up and put back into servies. The repair was like 7 million but worth the cause

A visitor from United States posted Thu August 27, 2009:
I wonder how they got it out.....

A visitor from United States posted Tue September 23, 2008:
Look at the little sign above the plane says
"Car Smart"

A visitor from United States posted Sat February 2, 2008:
You don't see southwest crash very much.

A visitor from Canada posted Thu February 9, 2006:
Do not blame the pilots! blame mother nature and the
midway airport authorities for staying operational.
stupid and costly decision.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu December 22, 2005:
I have given this photo a single star as someone died in this inciednt which should never have happened the airport should have been shut all flights diverted and the pilots should have seen the snow on the runway THERE WAS SUPOSEDLY 7 INCHES ON THE RUNWAY shame on the pilots shame on the air traffic controler.

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 22, 2005:
It's tragic to know that a little boy lost his life in this incident. However there is no reason for a lawsuit against the pilots, southwest, Chicago, southwest or boeing.

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 22, 2005:
While accident photos may be popular, this is in total bad taste. Also, there is so much extra stuff in the way that it should not have been accepted. Oh- the aircraft is a write-off now..

A visitor from United States posted Wed December 21, 2005:
God bless the family of the little boy..., as for the shot, it seems to unreal to be true. = (

A visitor from United States posted Fri December 16, 2005:
A sad photo, indeed. My best wishes go to the little boy and his family, may God bless them.

A visitor from United States posted Fri December 16, 2005:
I flew on this bird the second day they got her.I work for jetblue, had to travel standby on here.It was nice,so sad to see her like this.

A visitor from Mexico posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Look at the right corner, there you can read a yellow sign that say "caution driveway", now I think they must change it for "caution runway".
GOD may bless that kid & his family

A visitor from Finland posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Excellent shot, but sad situation...

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Amazing it is still in one piece, I feel for the family who lost there child at this time of the year. This is the second time this has happened to Southwest isn't it?

A visitor from India posted Thu December 15, 2005:
It blends real well with the surrounding, good thing it didnt blow up

A visitor from Norway posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Nice picture! Really see every details. Thanks for sharing.

A visitor from Germany posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Sad, very sad!

A visitor from Netherlands posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Spoilers are not seen because they were retracted in preparation for the evac (as per "memory item"). I would assume they were armed and subsequently deployed upon landing...

Pic looks a bit like a scene from a movie, doesn't it?

A visitor from Iran, Islamic Republic Of posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Why there are no spoilers?

A visitor from Canada posted Thu December 15, 2005:
I dont think this photo should be posted, because a young boy lost his life as a result of the accident!

A visitor from Australia posted Thu December 15, 2005:
The insurence work company above the left wing is certainly going to have a lot of work to do!!!!! God bless the boy that got killed....

A visitor from India posted Thu December 15, 2005:
The unsualness of the incident and the timing of the photographer makes this pic a great shot.

A visitor from France posted Thu December 15, 2005:
One thing that strikes me is that accident occured 33 years before an accident occured at the same airport on the same day.

A visitor from Jamaica posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Now, you hardly see anything like this everyday. And even with a skidding of the plane, YOU NEVER SEE THIS HAPPENING!! This is an amazing event... Gabriel, good work. :)

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Well, she certainly is a clean aircraft!

A visitor from Latvia posted Thu December 15, 2005:

A visitor from United States posted Thu December 15, 2005:
Great detail, I love this photo, great job!

A visitor from Canada posted Thu December 15, 2005:
No spoilers?
