Nice timing as the heavy swoops over the even heavier. She might win in a race but loses in the cleanliness stakes!

Five stars for sure! So tired of seeing the cabin interiors and air to air photos (just my opinion)! So refreshing to see some oringinality and luck come together with a beautiful capture like this. All the positive coments are well deserved!

Amazing! Was surprised when I opened the thumbnail that it was ORD! Thought it was going to be Victorville and this shabby lass was going in for scrapping.

Shame there wasn't a car parked up on the left there.
Then it would have been Planes, Trains and Automobiles.:)

Love the comparison and contrast of the photo. Remarkable timing to catch both machines in such an excellent orientation to each other.

I wonder what the power to freight ratio is.

So much Americana in one shot. I absolutely love it!

One wagon of that freight train carries as much fuel as the 747 overflying it...

Well, the 747-400 can carry a max of 360,000 lbs of usable fuel. How much can one of those rail tank cars carry?
Anonymous

The 747 can carry the equivalent of about 2.7 rail tank-cars worth of fuel....in it's fuel tanks. It could carry some more in it's spacious interior.
So from this you can see how incredibly efficient the rail system is.
