G-BRAF / SM969/D-A (cn 6S/663052) Appearing for the first time on airliners.net, this Spitfire was built by Vickers at Keevil and delivered to the Royal Air Force as SM969 in Aug-1945. Served with the Indian Air Force from Jan-1949 as HS877. Retired in 1972 and placed on display at the Western Air Command HQ, Delhi Cantonment. Returned to England in 1978 for restoration at Blackbushe (later Biggin Hill and North Weald). Acquired by The Fighter Collection in Apr-2006. The Rolls-Royce Griffon engine has been removed for maintenance.
