Absolutely magnificent. Brings tears to my eyes.
I'm so pleased that SwAFHF has got one flying again, looking forward to see it in the air this summer.

Woo-hoo! One of the most Beautiful jet fighter and camo schemes ever to grace the skies .

I concur with the french guy, its also a Very difficult paint scheme to apply for us modelers. Someday when I pick up the courage, I'll have a Viggen (this camo scheme) sitting in my showcase :-)

How sad to see these beauties go! They look so elegant, yet tough. -One of my favorite aircraft in the world! Truly a beautiful photo!

A visitor from France posted Thu January 19, 2006:
What to say ? One of my favorite ever built aircraft stop in motion in a perfect way... Showing us the magnificence of its design and its "goddamn scheme" so hard to paint for a model maker ^^.

A great photo, thanks to you for sharing.

Wonderful shot of Sweden;). Lovely big forests, mountains in the far background and two, powerful, roaring Viggens flying proudly over their country in the warm summer air;). Thank you for your service Viggen!

A previous comment was:"This particular Viggen was a present from the Swedish Air Force for a small aviation museum at the Thalerhof-Airport in Graz. I also had the opportunity to take a very very close look to this fascinating plane!"

That day was one of many while I served my military time at the Fliegerhorst Nittner as a Fueler, and it was me who defueled the Viggen and made it ready for its last journey, namely to the museum..

GREAT PHOTO!!!

I love Viggen and any photo of it means something to me. This particular one is very good, I like the forest in the background, one gets reminded of the purpose of the camopaint...

A visitor from Austria posted Sat January 7, 2006:
Really great picture! I like the contrast between the lower and upper camouflage varnish in a single shot when breaking off. And I think there can't be any discussion about the fact that the Viggen has one of the greatest in-flight-appearances of all planes ever built. I particularly love the double delta wing!
In Summer 2005 I had the honour to see a Viggen coming in for its last traffic circuit before its retirement. This was in Graz (LOWG, Austria), when I was standing on the apron and doing the preflight on my C-152(!!). What an unexpected experience and big contrast!!
This particular Viggen was a present from the Swedish Air Force for a small aviation museum at the Thalerhof-Airport in Graz. I also had the opportunity to take a very very close look to this fascinating plane!

P.S.: Our Austrian Saab35Draken have also retired in 2005. The last official formation was presented at the Air Power 2005 in Zeltweg.

What an awesome picutre of a great aircraft. It has a facsinating shape and to have captured top and bottom sides in one shot makes it a masterpiece. Well done!!!!!!!!!!

A visitor from Australia posted Sat January 7, 2006:
Thanks Jan for one of the greatest photos of one of the greatest designs of the 20th century!

A visitor from Mexico posted Thu January 5, 2006:
The SAAB-35 Draken was replaced by the 37 Viggen, and now it will be replaced by the JAS-39 Gripen. In my opinion, the greatest was the Viggen. And yours? T.B.
