Some pilots seem to have trouble understanding their assignment. Niklas you are pilot flying the Viggen and while doing so, me photographer, photographs you. It can't be that hard ;)

One of the coolest photos I've ever see. BTW There is something written inside the intake, could it be the mechanic's groceries list? Congratulations, Luis Tena

Anonymous

Excellent photo! The text on the inlet is swedish for 'danger'. The sticker under the canopy reads 'Warning Ejection Seat'.

As a pilot,I've had this experience to be hunted several times but it seems its not always the pilots who get hunted. They are good hunters themselves. Photographers, watch out!!!

Showed to my son how in the "cold war" pilots used to take photo shots of the other side when flying over the Baltic sea. This is better then the "Top-Gun" movie cause its more realistic in everydays life of them flyboys.

Willem, one of the best photo's on the site without a doubt! Not only because of the bitter sweet emotions of it; a humouristic moment in putting this great and unique aircraft to its final rest but also the quality is superb. Exteremely well done!!

Very nice. I believe it says "Final check at Blekinge Wing". Blekinge Wing is F 17 in Blekinge, southern Sweden.

The writing in the intake? Simple!; Fried duck & baked something something something... It's a menu!!..or a recipe!! Hmmmm....maybe time to buy new glasses... ;)

...and the menu of course describes what comes out the back of the plane if you have a bird-strike... ;)

Viggen has similar air about it to F-4 Phantom, chunky, rugged, no-nonsense, guaranteed to get the job done, brute. Funny that visitor from Malaysia comments Fara is word for girls there; so very true, girls (Women) are dangerous indeed!
