A visitor from Switzerland posted Thu March 25, 2010:I am proud of the Swiss aircraft industry after 2nd world war. The success of the Learjet, based on the ail of the P-16, shows impressively the quality of this early jet design. Due to the loss of one prototype and one pre-series aircraft, Swiss politics withdrew their order of 100 aircraft, and this after 506 succesful flights of P-16 fighters - an incredibly wrong decision, as the decline of the Swiss aircraft industry after this decision shows. The aircraft shown on the photo is made out of the only two remaining pieces. Thank you for the good shot. Christian Koe | |
