Isn't this photo upside down? Notice the mountains are in the sky pointing down.

This is the best fighter shot I have ever seen!! The quality is brilliant and you can easily imagine how close the photographer was when the F/A-18 buzzed the mountain top! 5 Stars!

The photo is right-side-up, unless the sun is now below the mountains and under the clouds. This is a demonstration flight. Great capture Piotr! Dtd

Watch the Axalp-videos on youtube and you'll understand that this is a real picture, not upside down

The best photo I have ever seen, The photographer was on the rigt side - unlike many other people in front of the Sun :) However the photographer did not sleep did not eat good food he hike and hike and hike and this is the gift from the Swiss Air Force

Cool picture! This will make for a lot of comments I bet. Are you in the lead jet, flying inverted, photographing the F-18 in regular flight, mountains behind below a grey sky... Or are you in regular flight, photographing the F-18 in inverted flight with a cloud deck below you and the mountain peeks above it? This one's a head scratcher alright! Nice addition!

I think he was running away when he saw this bird coming...

My guess: Pjotr is on the ridge that jet is flying over. It just rolled inverted, but is still in an upward movement.

Agree with what's already been said. Isn't the picture up-side-down, since the mountains are at the top and the sky at the bottom?

I'm not the photographer but I guess the picture was taken during the annual Axalp flight demonstration by the Swiss Air Force. I know this area well, congrats to the photographer since a little effort has to be made to take this picture. Hiking up to 2700m with heavy gear needs a health constitution;)Piotr is standing on top of a mountain, and the jets are pulling their turn there directly above your heads. Just a different perspective from the famous axalp shooting range. The "cloud" is actually fog, which is unfortunately very common in the valleys during autumn in Switzerland!

While looking all the airshow pictures from the F/A 18 Hornet of the swiss airforce I had the impression that the swiss airforce is only doing airshows.

Notice the gun gas door still open on the right side of the nose, indicating the gun was just fired. Great shot!

I love the feeling of looking down the gullet of the beast.

Is the plane upside down or the camera-pilot? Or, is that how they fly in Switzerland? Awesome close up. He can't drop bombs tho unless his target is up. Landing is a trick, and ejection is just plain out if he's too low. Other than that, nice flying job...(all in jest - great shot!)

For those of you who believe the photo was rotated, try this: save the photo on your computer and then turn it 180 degrees. You will understand.
