An F/A-18C of the Swiss Air Force ''Fliegerstaffel 11'' taxies over a bridge wich crosses the stream at the bottom of the Oltschibach Falls. The bridges railings are lowered to get some wing clearance. The aircraft are kept in the mountains at this airbase and when they come out they taxi a long taxiway to the runway. The path where the photo was taken from is a public footpath ("Wanderweg'') and crosses the taxiway. The same gravelpath is visible behind the nose of the Hornet. ...Only in Switzerland!

Very interesting picture. I had to check the airpot on Google Earth. It looks like this F/A-18 is crossing a stream on its way from a ramp to the runway. The ramps is next to a hill/mountain. Are the jets kept inside the mountain?

What the heck? Is he going hiking or what? And the "cat" on the tail adds even more fun!

A Swiss fighter jet in such a tranquil natural setting? I can almost feel the sound of the running water, birds and jet engines singing in harmony. A five-star golden award for this Ron Kellenaers masterpiece. Bravo Maestro!

This really warrants 5 stars. But it would be nice to know how the jet ended up there.

"I should have made a left toin at Albukoykee..." :) I can imagine the pilot having an unfolded map on his knees, saying "Damn, runway should be here somewhere?!". Great photo Ron!

Brilliant picture! Folding/deployable guard rails too? Awesome! Or are they permanently horizontal with the road?

Wonder pic! I have never seem this perspective at Meiringen. To those wondering, the jets can be stored in caves next to the airfield.
