VH-PJC (cn 61P-0452-174) GE Bicentennial Around Australia Air Race - race number 12. Owned by Ian Rear, taxying in after landing at 14.05, callsign "Aerostar 12". This won the race (RAAF PC-9A A23-006 had fastest times, but came 2nd by handicapping). Ian was a mining equipment supplier, based locally. In 1965, he flew a Baron in the London to Sydney Air Race, and ferried a Baron and a Citation across the Pacific. In 1986 he took VH-PJC around the world in 140 hours flying time. Built 1977, regd 12.12.1977. Later rereg VH-WGK.
