Ouch, that really hurts. Rest in peace and pieces, good old classic 747!

It's like the guillotine came by and had a run with this classic. Sad to see it go...

Looks like a 747 doing an AN-124 impression.

It looks like C-3PO in Star Wars Episode 2: "Attack of the clones" when he says: "I'm beside myself."

Poor thing...no 747 should have to look like that!

Sad picture. This should never happen to any lovely 747's or any Boeing for that matter.

Interesting shot. When I saw the small blue trailer to the right I thought a GPU was still plugged into the Aircraft!

Gerhard possesses an eye for aviation lore and history in true living color... rather tiresome and trite, but an eye nonetheless

Looks like something just beat it to death to get it apart!!What a loss.

Yes, it is sad to see this photo, but when you think about it, almost every airplane, ship, train or building ever built is going to end up being taken apart, ripped up, blown up, or whatever, to make room for something else. At least all that aluminum is going to be melted down and turned into something else; who knows, with a little luck, it may even end up in another B 747 !

Hope it was quick and painless, RIP!

It seems like such a shame to see such a grand aircraft in this condition.... but it is a great photograph to be able to evoke such feeling.

It almost looks like a F-18 on the thumbnail.

"It doesn't hurt. A little duct tape some baling wire and I'll be good as new...really!"
This photo tells a great story of 'end of life.'
