VH-TJL (cn 47009/152) A rare 1968 view of TAA DC-9 VH-TJL on final approach to Melbourne's Essendon Airport . This DC-9, Del: 20Aug1967, was Named 'Angus McMillan'. The engines are leaving a thick smoke trail (and a large Noise Footprint) as they are throttled up to maintain the required approach angle. Having sat next to a DC-9 engine in a rear seat row, I know that the engines work hard on approach. (Apologies for photo quality).
