A visitor from Canada posted Sun May 2, 2010:This L-1049G Super Connie was trucked up to Canada by a friend of Maurice Roundy. I believe some parts were used on the L-1649A in Florida (N974R). After being used as a restaurant next to the Constellation Hotel in Toronto, this Super Connie fell into disrepair and was eventually bought by the Museum of Flight in Seattle... and what a nice job it appears they have done with her!
A visitor from - posted Tue August 25, 2009:Great photo. Looked it up because today I was waiting on the exit ramp off I-90 in Harborcreek, PA. There seemed to be an unexplained delay. Nobody was going past on Rt. 531 yet nobody was going. Then two guide trucks went by followed by the fuselage of this Constellation! Why they were on the back roads, I do not know but it was a beautiful sight to see.
A visitor from Germany posted Sat June 20, 2009:Great job, and I see no rotors missing just #2 propeller. Didn't know it had any rotors, but one always learns!
A visitor from - posted Sat March 7, 2009:I actually flew on this plane and I am glad to see it again
A visitor from United States posted Sun January 25, 2009:Brought tears to my eyes as my father crossed the Atlantic from Prestwick to Winnipeg in a TCA Connie before we all followed in a TCA DC-8 a few years later. I can still remember the 1963 "CKY in Winnipeg" radio jingle we listened to in the car the day we landed. Means a lot to me, this is what Airliners.net is all about....thank you!
A visitor from United States posted Tue December 16, 2008:Yes, very good job fixing this baby up. What a nice paint scheme too.
A visitor from United States posted Thu December 4, 2008:Wow what a beautiful photo! I saw photos of the Connie when she first came to Rome, all rough and rotten looking. What a job they did fixing her up. Great job! and Great photo!!
A visitor from Canada posted Tue December 2, 2008:Is this the same aircraft that was a restaurant in Toronto? If it is I actually have had lunch in it. Looks absolutely stunning now.
A visitor from Canada posted Tue December 2, 2008:Any idea if they are restoring her to flying condition or just for static display?
A visitor from - posted Tue December 2, 2008:I believe this is headed to the Museum of Flight in Seattle

A visitor from United States posted Tue December 2, 2008:I see that it still missing parts, but I could appreciate where it is going. My question is...is that the original nose design? I hope to visit it. ......Ladd

A visitor from United States posted Mon December 1, 2008:Amazing photo! I worked for Landcare Aviation next door last year and this Connie was seemingly rotting away in the parking lot for months. It is great to see that they are actually restoring this truly beautiful bird.
