Some early 747s used vertical 'tapes' in lieu of steam gauges; in this case EPR, N1, EGT, N2, and Fuel Flow. Back then INS was considered a new 'hi-tech' novelty, as opposed to more recent three-ring LASER Gyros and GPS.
