A photograph of historic significance for our family as my uncle Richard Bitters of Athens, Ohio, was on this very ill-fated plane on December 16, 1960 as it prepared to land in New York and was struck by a United Airlines jet. This plane changed our family's life forever and left a widow with three young children. Thus, to see a photo of this beautiful plane brings to mind many memories from the past. Thank you for sharing this photo.
