RA-77114 (cn 08-2) A supersonic testbed, was the last TU-144 to fly. Today there is no active Tu-144 left in the world; this aircraft is also stored.

This plane looks great!!!... I totally agree, this Tu 144 design is 10 times better than Concorde. It is sad that supersonic airliners are discontinued. Hopefully russians will re-start or increase the competition for big/supersonic airliners.

TU-144 looks at least ten times better than Concorde

A visitor from Malta posted Sat September 2, 2006:
Really a great pic! Actually the Russian designers had some blue prints of the Concorde, but they couldnt get the wing design correct so they went for the cannard solution which made the aircraft perform better in the end than the concorde. I think they both look superb! :-)

That aircraft looks cool.

A visitor from Singapore posted Fri May 5, 2006:
Its sad there are no active concords and TU144s. At least we should keep one from each a/c in airworthy....

This picture gives idea about what size and how everything works on this plane together

A real bird of prey. The photo captures the dramatic proportions of the plane, and also the sense of loss that it no longer flys.
