Very unique design ! especially the gear config .. thanks for the shot

A visitor from United States posted Tue April 26, 2011:
An image of raw power on the onset only to be shot down by politics and choked with the purse strings of government penny pinchers. It was a similar case of the Canada's Avro CF-105 Arrow killed by Prime Minister John Diefenbaker in 1959. Wonder what could have been if both had survived!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue April 26, 2011:
Fine shot of this historic aircraft. Although I am a huge fan of 1960s machines, I have to confess this is not the most beautiful from this angle. Like most aircraft it would be a much prettier if the undercarriage was raised. Even so it comes nowhere near the Lightning, Victor and especially Hunter (possibly the most beautiful jet design ever?), I think it is something to do with that huge flat slab of a forward fuselage. Thanks for the picture.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue April 26, 2011:
Awesome on so many levels

A visitor from - posted Tue April 26, 2011:
Such a special bird. Should never have been cancelled. This photo is pure action, from the reheat flames to the Meteor chasing.

A visitor from - posted Tue April 26, 2011:
Beast with a horrific look!!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Tue April 26, 2011:
Ugly..!!?? Yer she's not quite a 757 but shes far from ugly. British aircraft are renowned for being "slightly less attractive" than others, but they're by far the best and most famous of any... :)

A visitor from - posted Tue January 18, 2011:
Ugly??? how could anyone say that. Please for those who think this beauty is an ugly machine, watch the footage on youtube of this fine british lady absolutely gorgeous. 5/5 stars for this piece of history.

A visitor from United States posted Sat January 1, 2011:
What is wrong with you people? Ugly? I suppose you think the Nimrod and Victor are ugly too? The Hunter too plain? I cant imagine what you say about the Vulcan or the Lightning. Sheesh!

A visitor from United States posted Wed November 3, 2010:
Great photo, but I have to agree.... That is one ugly beast!

A visitor from China posted Tue November 2, 2010:
What a precious shot of what would've been a spectacular airplane. She was so far ahead of her time that it would quite possibly have still been in service today. Another case of politicians getting in the way....

A visitor from - posted Tue November 2, 2010:
Ugly! What are you talikng about? Have you seen the footage of this aircraft on youtube? This is a stunning aircraft from a time when the British aviation industry was leading the world with new innovations such as the TSR2, this aircraft was way ahead of it's time. Unfortunately, it was a victim of a Labour government!

A visitor from United States posted Thu September 30, 2010:
OMG...If it's British it has to be ugly!

A visitor from Brazil posted Thu September 30, 2010:
Outstanding photo, but at the same time reminds the sad fact that the UK aircraft industry diminished a lot during the last 40 years.

A visitor from Germany posted Fri July 16, 2010:
Awesome aircraft and truly historic footage.

A visitor from United States posted Sat May 22, 2010:
I visited Duxford in March and saw their TSR-2 display bird, what an amazing shape. They say this jet would have been a game-changer. What a shame.

A visitor from Spain posted Sat April 17, 2010:
Really awesome. What a days those.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Fri April 16, 2010:
Just impressing, what a bird and what a days those!

A visitor from Canada posted Thu January 21, 2010:
Very scary looking jet. Anti-flash white paint adds to the scare. Looks quite powerful too.

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Sat November 21, 2009:
I remember the day well,I was on nightshift at the time preparing for the first flight,at the time we were on cloud nine with no idea of what was to happen. As one of SPERYS/MORGANS few we had lived it right from assembly at Weybridge thro transit to Boscombe(accident on arrival)reassembly, system testing, ground runs, first flight, cancellation, and subsequent transfer to BAC111 as a field rep,but thats another story.Keith HAYLOCK.

A visitor from United States posted Mon September 28, 2009:
If only we could have all seen this, stunning shot.

A visitor from United States posted Sat September 12, 2009:
What a spectacular picture of such historic value! And the chase... is that a Meteor?

A visitor from - posted Tue September 1, 2009:
What a creepy devilish looking jet

A visitor from Germany posted Fri December 19, 2008:
AWESOME, what a sight

A visitor from United States posted Wed March 26, 2008:
Looks like a bird trying to fly with its wings tied behind its back. I mean, the wing surface looks way too tiny when compared to modern jets!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Mon March 10, 2008:
Aaaah. If only!

A visitor from Russian Federation posted Sun March 9, 2008:
Absolutely fantastic picture of a rare craft during spectacular take off!

A visitor from United States posted Sun February 10, 2008:
It looks like a bird is trying to fly with his wings clipped. I mean, the wing surface is just too little compared to the modern jets!

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu May 18, 2006:
Great aircraft , great photo

A visitor from Belgium posted Fri January 6, 2006:
Exceptional historical value combined with fabulous framing, powerful and dramatic setting and very nice colour spectrum (afterburner) - THE BEST EVER TSR2 picture ? My vote !

A visitor from United Kingdom posted Thu December 22, 2005:
This shot of the TSR 2 is fantastic. It shows the shear power of what could, and should, have been. I would dearly loved to have seen this ac fly.
