WA634 Built in Nov-1949 and initially used by Gloster and later A&AEE for cockpit refrigeration testing. In Jan-1952 sold to Martin-Baker for ejection-seat development (fitted with an F.8 tail for this task). Performed the world's first ground-level ejection at Chalgrove in 1955. Finally in 1974 she was retired to RAF St Athan then in 1986 here to RAF Museum Cosford. Note the open cockpit for ejections and the seat displayed alongside.
