XG900 (cn SH1814) (Ex Royal Aircraft Establishment Bedford) was Britain's first VTOL aircraft and was one of two aircraft built (the other crashing). Currently on display at the Science Museum in London. Certainly not the most beautiful aircraft in the world.

The detail shown is very good in what might be called an "ugly duckling" compared to what the eventual became.
