WL679 On static display in Hangar 1 at the RAF Museum, Cosford. The prototype Varsity T1 made its maiden flight on 17 July 1949. The RAF took its first deliveries in October 1951 going to No.201 Squadron, Advanced Flying School at Swinderby, Lincolnshire. Production of the Varsity T1 for the RAF ceased on 28 February 1954 with 163 built. It was a versatile twin piston-engined aircraft and replaced the Wellington T10. This example was built in 1953, retiring to the museum in 1992 (Canon 50D + 10-20 EX DC HSM)
