Remark Photographer
ZD230 / K (cn 851) For the first time im Brazil! This VC-10 belongs to the 101st Squadron, formed at Farnborough in 1915. The Squadron motto is REM ACU TANGERE - To hit the mark. The aircraft badge is a winged arrow - approved by King George VI in September 1937. The badge was designed by Wg Cdr Whitelock while watching archery practice in Oxford. He thought the bomb was the modern equivalent of the medieval arrow, and the wings were added to indicate great speed. I always liked the "history" of aircraft markings. [Canon EOS 300D]
