XZ451 / VL-100 (cn 912005) The first Sea Harrier for the Royal Navy seen here while being opearted by the resident trials unit 700A Naval Air Squadron. This aircraft claimed three "kills" during the Falklands War - a Pucacra, C-130 and Canberra, while flying with 801 NAS off HMS Invincible. This aircraft crashed near Sardinia on 1.12.89. The pilot ejected safely. The setting for this image is against the beautiful St Bartholemew's Church.
