KD431 / E2-M (cn 1871) Built in 1939 to an order by the French but reallocated to the Royal Navy after the fall of France. Arrived in Britain in Nov-1940, and flew during the War. Acquired by the FAA Museum in 1963. A stunning restoration project was able to remove later layers of paint to reveal the exact condition of the aicraft as it was in 1944. Every marking, stencil and even scratches have been revealed. This is the first such restoration anywhere in the world.
