On static display in the Air and Space Hall at the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester. This Avro 707A first flew in February 1953 as a research and development aircraft as part of the Avro Vulcan bomber programme. It tested the low speed aerodynamic characteristics of delta wings. She's powered by a single 3,600 lb st Rolls-Royce Derwent 8 turbojet engine, has a wingspan of 34ft and top speed of 415kn (Canon 350D + Sigma 10-20 EX DC HSM, Speedlight 430EX)
