From this angle it looks like the fuselage ends right behind the wings! (also-- that security guard is striking quite the jaunty pose)

You had to get to know the Beverley to love it but it performed admirably. We carried a full sized airfield fire engine in one and had plenty of room to spare. To those who flew it and worked on it she was beautiful. What a terrific photo !

The reason why it looks as though the back half is missing is because the clam-shell doors have been removed in order to make a heavy drop.
