After WWI, 12 M-1Cs were delivered to Chile. Less then one month after their first local flight, on December 12 1918 Lt Dagoberto Godoy crossed the Andes mountains for the first time between Chile and Argentina on C4988, reaching an altitude of 6,300 meters - without oxigen nor heating! On April 5 1919, Lt Armando Cortínez crossed the Andes for the first time in both directions on C4987, a static replica of which is on display at the museum [Canon 40D + EF 17-40 f/4L USM].
