Out of 37,000 Halifax missions flown in WWII, 29,000 were flown by Canadian flight crews. Out of over 6,000 Halifax's built, here is the only complete Halifax, still in existence, in Canada and in fact, North America. In 1942, Halifax's were the first bombers to bomb Germany in WWII.

Wonderful photo- but I think the first bombers to bomb Germany were either Vickers Wellesleys, Wellingtons, AW Whitleys or HP Hampdens...can't remember which but it was '39 or '40.

Maybe they were the first Canadians to do so, though...
