Head on to this iconic jet fighter on static display at the excellent Solway Aviation Museum at Carlisle Airport. She was built in 1968 and based at Coningsby with 29 Squadron an latterly 23 Sqn based at RAF Wattisham. She now wears the markings of 228 OCU/64 Squadron from her time spent at RAF Leuchars. Although the Phantom was built by McDonnell Douglas in the USA, a large part of the FGR2 was British built (Canon 50D + 24-105 F/4 L)
