The only Tornado of the day knife-edges through the Cadair Idris pass, seen here over-vertical against the rocky precipice of Craig-y-Llam. Mynydd Gwerngraig (‘Cad West’) is the location on the Machynlleth Loop that usually brings the aircraft closest to the photographers. On the starboard side of the fin the aircraft wears the triangular unit marking of 2 (Army Co-operation) Sqn, which actually converted to the Typhoon and moved from Marham to RAF Lossiemouth as of January 2015.
