A trio of cannibilised carcasses of RAF VC10s, retired within weeks of each other at the end of 2005, seen at East Site, RAF St Athan, in April 2006. On the left is ZD230, the prototype Super VC-10 which first flew in 1964 as G-ASGA for BOAC. XR810 (centre) was the fifth of the original fourteen C.1s delivered to 10 Squadron between 1966 and 1968. ZD240 (right) was Super VC10 G-ASGL before acquisition by the RAF in the early ‘eighties.
